Before You Begin

  • Before performing backups that you use for conversions, configure source VMs to apply DHCP instead of using static IP addresses. The conversion procedure does not restore static IP addresses.

  • The destination client must be a Hyper-V server, with Windows Server 2012 R2 or a more contempo version, that has the Virtual Server Agent installed.

  • To enable deployment in Hyper-V, from the Metallic Hub, configure Hyper-V backup using the New Configuration sorcerer under VMs & Kubernetes.

  • The Hyper-5 VM name can contain simply alphanumeric characters and the '-' grapheme. The name cannot incorporate whatever Unicode Transformation Format (UTF) characters.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Virtualization.

    The Virtual machines folio appears.

  2. On the Hypervisors tab, click the hypervisor.

    The hypervisor page appears.

  3. Under VM groups surface area, in the row for the VM group that contains the VM, click the action button and and then click Restore.

    The Select restore type folio appears.

  4. Select Total instance to restore ane or more full virtual machines.

    The Restore page appears.

  5. Select the content to restore, and then click Restore.

    The Restore options dialog box appears.

  6. From the Restore as list, select Microsoft Hyper-V.

  7. From the Virtualization Client list, select the Hyper-V hypervisor to restore.

  8. From the Destination Client list, select the target host.

    All Hyper-Five nodes announced.

  9. To enable the restored VM to migrate to another node in the cluster, select Register virtual automobile with failover cluster.

  10. In the Modify VM display name to box, enter a new virtual car proper name.

    This option does not display if you are restoring multiple VMs. If an existing VM with the same name exists on the destination host and you do not select Overwrite VMs if they already exist, the restore job fails.

  11. Click Submit to run the restore job.
